Only so much can be done

My heart goes out to all the parents who did the best they could do in parenting & providing as much as possible for their children. I salute you parents who actually try your best to make a positive impact in the lives of your children. It really makes me sad to see people I know stray away from their wonderful upbringing and end up in prison. I just saw a mugshot of someone near & dear to my heart & he seems to be facing about 5-7yrs in prison. To me his mom did the best she knew how to do, but as a parent you can only do so much...I'm not a parent, but I think I kind of understand her pain.

I'm praying for them.

A wonderful change

I always say "You've got to know what I've been through in order to understand my praise" Looking at someone is not the best representation of assuming what they've been through. I believe my story is a little bit more than what some people would expect to hear from me. Just know God has really seen me through and I'm constantly asking for the Lord to order my steps so I won't fall off track anymore. There is a song that says, "A wonderful change has come over me.." that is a piece of my testimony.

One day I'm going to have the courage to share my testimony with everyone. Until then I'll just share bits and pieces. Maybe I'll write a book. LOL just kidding :-)

Boldness

I continuously add different things to my prayers, such as, conviction, patience, forgiveness and strength. My explanation for each of my prayers is: conviction to know my wrongs so they can immediately be corrected, patience to deal with people no matter my mood, forgiveness for my sins and people who I've done any wrong to, and strength to make it through each and every day.

Now, I want to add the spirit of boldness. I want to be able to take a stand on His word and be knowledgeable enough to explain His meaning to other people who might be lost or confused. I would like the ability to come up to a complete stranger and say "have you confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord & savior?" Just as promiscuous people, strippers, homosexuals, liars, cheaters, drug addicts, fornicators and alcoholics are bold enough to remain living their life without regret nor worrying about offending somebody I want to be able to live my life with that same bold spirit. The difference will be my walk with God and my talk with others about the goodness He has for US if we choose to live our lives accordingly.

Warning signs

There was a small debate on a friend of mine's Facebook page earlier.
She posted one of the youtube clips (the Homosexuality poem) I have on this blog to her Facebook page to share with her friends. One of her friends said she thought the topic of homosexuality being a sin was ridiculous! Well, at first I didn't want to say anything, then I felt as though maybe she truly didn't know homosexuality is actually a sin & the wages of sin is death! So

I said " research the story of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis ch. 19) and how the Lord destroyed that place because of the homosexuality/sinful things going on in that city. Also take a look at Leviticus chapter 19. It's a choice, life is a choice-we choose how to live it. Everything on my end is done all in love."

She replied "The BIBLE says a lot of things are sins that we don't consider sin anymore. Vegetable gardens, for instance. And men with injured genitals aren't allowed into heaven. Blended fabrics are also a no-no. If you're a man and your brother dies leaving his wife childless, you have to give her children. And then, apparently, you both have to be stoned to death. Yay Old Testament!
New Testament--women should cover their heads. No music in church. It's pretty darn hard for rich people to get into heaven.
The Bible also gives the okay to things that we consider wrong these days. Selling your children into slavery, for instance. Or forcing a woman to marry her rapist. I'm not coming from an atheist or a homosexual perspective here, either. I'm a heterosexual Episcopalian Religion minor who considers herself blessed to belong to a church that ordains women and homosexuals."

Then this power team (couple I admire from a distance) came in & said  "
I'll just say that it is important to understand the context in which scripture is written. Christ has risen from the dead, so I believe we both can acknowledge that many of the laws of the Old Testament have been abolished and or fulfilled though Christ. I support ordaining women 100%, as I believe that women, just like men, play an intricate role in sharing the gospel message. I do, however, whole heartedly disagree with ordaining homosexuals. How does your church go about that and what is there justification for it? I really am simply asking because I would like to know. I say that because The Bible clearly states that those who practice homosexuality, as well as male prostitution, or who are fornicators, or who are idolaters will not inherent the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
Context is Key here. In all of our "getting" we are to get understanding, meaning we are to ask God to help us understand His word within the context of his overall original message to us. And I'll just say this. Jesus says "I place before you (me, you, the entire world) Life & Death. Choose Life (the truth, righteousness, holiness, Him-Jesus, & anything else noble and right)Therefore, Life is about the Ultimate choice."

Now, when you aren't too sure about your faith & what you stand for you might have been think hey, maybe she's right. People please remain faithful and dedicated your beliefs. My good friend JH tweeted this "the Bible warns us that in the last days, ppl will come to mock the Truth & follow their own desires. Read the book of Jeremiah, see what happens to ppl who stubbornly follow their own evil desires."

So, I say choose LIFE & live your life accordingly! It's not our job to judge, but to lend out a helping hand to the confused that might be going astray.

Now where you start, but where you finish.

Mali Music and one of my really good friends Everett E. Hall sing a song called "Avaylable" (the youtube clip can be found on one of my previous blog post)

Mali says something in this song & it literally touches me every time I listen to it

"Not once*not twice*not three times*Have I drop the ball*when all was on the line*But please believe* the last time*was the last time*I gonna let Your Will be done *and not mine*Things have gotten better* the sun’s a little brighter*and since I casted my cares on You*I feel a little lighter*Now I can hold my head up*stick my chest out*Because Your Will*will surely be carried out*No doubt*about it*"

I mean how many times have we just placed a situation into our own hands and said "naw bruh I got this one" when in all actuality it's the Lord who we need to look to in anything we do. Then once we hand it back over to him and see how easy it is for him to handle the situation we feel soooo relieved.

Someone once told me it's not where you start, but where you finish. Continuing to take complete control over your issues can drive you crazy! Hand them over to God & watch what happens.

God get's ALL the glory

Today had been an amazing day! I'm a bit emotional right now because sometimes when you really get into the presence of God you can't help but get emotional. Have you ever just took out the time to go deep into worship. I feel as though a lot of release can be gain through worship.

A couple of my friends just got their certification to teach today & immediately gave all the glory to God. Acknowledging the Lord & his work I feel keeps blessings coming upon you.

My best friend said something really powerful today "This is crazy!!! I know he's real but this is too real for me. That GUY is amazing:-)"  Her meaning behind this message was the fact that we are getting closer and closer to our dreams turning into reality. The biggest part of this was her giving God the glory he so rightly deserves. When God behind your dreams (visions) he's got your back 100% and is ordering your steps every step of the way.

When we continue to send the praises up the blessings will continue to fall down upon us. Can't nobody tell me God isn't absolutely amazing! I pray that worship becomes apart of your everyday life; watch what happens when you worship Him.

What does our life say?

Comfort & conviction

I constantly pray for the Lord to make me feel convicted when I'm not doing something according to His plan. As I sit here and watch these youtube clips of Christian poetry I hear the Lord speaking to me! We can become so comfortable with our regular lives and our comfort can turn into laziness. These videos came at the perfect time in my life. Being a Christian is more than sitting back "living right" we must share the gospel with those around us. I usually try not to take religion with others because I consider myself not trying to throw my god on others.

At this point I'm done making excuses and ready to take my walk to the next level. Once we feel comfort in our walks I feel like it's God tapping us on our shoulders so He can take us a little higher.

My plan is to tell somebody about God at least once a day, no matter if it's in real life, email or social media.

My desire is to please God & live my life accordingly. If others cannot see my walk, then I must not be doing something right.

Puff puff pass

Perfection

I don't ever mean to hurt the feelings of other by what I say via Facebook, Twitter or this blog. I a fully aware of no one being perfect; mistakes happen. A lot! I posted a comment on Facebook & Twitter today saying "FIRST love, NEXT marriage, THEN the baby in the baby carriage, right? Right??" This comment wasn't intended for any specific person, but an expression of how I was feeling. Media can be so influential to making people think it's okay to do the wrong thing. Many ask the question what makes right, right and wrong, wrong. From a Christian aspect & my personal view the Bible holds the key to our rights & wrongs. If we fill convicted by a certain thing we are doing, clearly what we are doing is wrong. My status, tweets & blogs are what I'm thinking & how I view life. If you might be offended I do apologize for the misunderstanding; I apologize for what has been said though. It may sound harsh, but we're all trying to get into heaven, right? Well let's make an effort in doing what is right. If you aren't sure of your decisions being right, ask yourself would God be pleased with the choice you're making. If you have to think about it, it's a great possibility your decision might not be the best choice. We are all in this thing together, hopefully trying to get to the same place. I too am guilty of a lot of wrong decisions. In the mist of my wrong and sometimes after realize I didn't do the right thing I ask for forgiveness. We have the choice to life right, what is your choice? Sometimes we have to step outside of our self & ask the Lord to reveal our self to our self, if that makes sense. That way you can sort of see what changes you might need to make in life in order to better your lifestyle.

This is all said in love :-)

RED!

I really don't have any comment, just wanted to share :)

Its been a min.

Well where do I begin? School has been pretty tough and time consuming, I guess that would be the reason I haven't blogged much lately. I was also struggling with a recent decision I made in my life, wondering if I did the right thing or not. I've finally gained the peace in my decision and my joy has been restored. Thank God! Work has been awesome! My personal life has been amazing and getting better by the day. I reunited with some old friends this past weekend & plan on keeping in touch this time for sure. One friend in particular, has such an amazing vibe that makes you want to stick around. Well, I suppose that is all for now....

Oh and I finally got an okay on a program I've been trying to start for the past year.I'll keep y'all updated on that for sure.
