To my friend KL

So I usually work every single day, but convinced my manager, my aunt, for a day off. I had to go visit a friend who is extra hard to get in touch with, so when he said come, I went! We talked for hours and hours about what seemed like everything; what's been going on, what's to come and what has been. Gosh I didn't realize how much I missed him until sitting down chatting with him. I feel as though God places different people in our lives for specific reason. My "guy friend" who I shall call KL, so he will remain confidential, is absolutely amazing! When I first met him, I know there was something different about this guy and I have got to find out who he is... So we grew closer and closer over the years, and he really makes me value his friendship. KL & I share a lot of the same ideas about different things, especially when it comes down to helping people. I was chatting with KL about a past relationship that keeps haunting me every time I think about it & the person who was on the other end of that long relationship. KL is not a huge fan of the ex-boyfriend, but I needed some advice on why this ex-boyfriend keeps coming back to haunt me. I came to the conclusion, people use others for their own well being, it is not fair, but it is life. I told myself I was going to be working on my forgiveness skills and one person I know I have not forgave is my ex-boyfriend. I am praying for the strength to forgive him, and know that soon the past will be behind me and not come back haunting me. I learn a lot from KL, I hope he reads this! I love you KL <3

Still proud GA peach

So I decided not to delete my last blog. I'm still a Falcons fan no matter what. : ( that was a really good game though & the people I was around made it even better. I also got to see an old friend tonight, haven't seen him in what feels like years. I love seeing people I grew up with years later, still looking good & actually doing something with their lives. Inspiration! : ) peace out & I guess the Saint Dat, for tonight at least. Yeah yeah yeah whattttevvver!

Go Falcons!

I'm going to try to start making my blogs a little bit shorter & I am also going to attempt to update them on a daily basis. GOOOO FALCONSSSS!!!!Yuppp I'm a GA girl, born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I really hope the Falcons win tonight! I guess you can say I'm reppin' for thee home team. Once the game is over I hope I don't have to come back and delete this blog, lol.

Forgiveness

Well another Christmas has come and gone. I'm sitting in my room listening to one of my favorite Kirk Franklin songs, Holy One. I watched a movie yesterday, Tyler Perry's Big Happy Family, a long but nice movie. In the movie Madea mentioned how people who you haven't forgave have some kind of control over you. I never understood the phrase "he who angers you controls you", but I finally do. I know that when you might be upset with someone, even if you might have thought you forgave that person and they walk into the same room as you and your whole attitude might change, you have not completely forgave that person. There is a few people in my life that I know that I need to work on forgiving, just when I thought I forgave them, I really haven't. I'm not sure how to forgive in the proper way, but I do pray that God helps me with my ability to forgive in the correct manner. A lot of people try to work on something in the new year, I guess that is one thing I plan on working on, but I'm starting today. Keeping in mind faith without works is dead, so I'm not just going to talk about it, but I plan on doing something about it.

Tis the season, right?

So this is about the time when people are giving and changing/deciding what they would like to change for the new year. I feel as though sometimes change is good and other times we just have to go back to where we started from. I am going into this new year, not a completely changed person, but digging back into a little of the old me. I did a lot of changing between the end of 2006 and 2007 and I was very happy with the person I had become. I plan on doing a little of the old Erica mixed with the lessons learned from the new Erica so I can equal, Miss Erica Denise. Woo woo I cannot wait! I really feel that these next few months will be grand. I believe I've been to hell and now I'm back and ready for the overflow of blessings coming my way. <3

Blackberry blogging

So I'm sitting at work, bored as usual. Ok so I log onto my sister's Facebook page, just to be nosey & sure enough if you go snooping you'll find something you didn't want to see. I logged onto "someone's" page & remembered one of the reasons I left FB in the first place. I use to be a twitter/FB freak (not in a nasty way) I just use to be on those two sites all the time. I deleted both pages due to the "flexin" that goes on, on the two of those sites. It's really a shame how hard people try to be like a person the really are not! I mean if you have it good, but if you don't have it that's fine to just be sure that you trying to "fake it til you make it" is not a good look. I got tired of the lies coming from the people on FB & twitter, especially people I knew were lying. I'm doing this new thing where I'm trying to work on me & hearing/seeing the lies & flexing coming from those sites wouldn't be a great way to help me in my bettering of self. Ok I've said enough...back to work I go! Peace out y'all : ) oh & forgive any misspellings I have I'm kinda rushing over here lol

Hello people!

I know I have an "about me" part of my blog, but I feel the need to express even more. Once again my name is Erica, middle name Denise. I am the oldest of five children, two brothers and two sister, silence is not an option in my life. I graduated from Atlanta Metropolitan College with an Associates of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I am currently attending The University of West Georgia, Carrollton campus, GO WEST! I am still an Early Childhood major and a Mass Communications minor. I love music, I even have two music notes tatted on my left arm, next to my wrist. I'm a huge fan of Chrisette Michele, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Mahogany Dust, India.Arie, Floetry, Ledisi and sooooo many others. I also love gospel music, some of my favorites are Kirk Franklin (1999 & down), Clark Sisters, Winans Family and a lot of others. I love movies, seriously my family and I watch movies every Sunday afternoon. I have too many favorites to even name them all, but I will say my all time favorite movie is Crybaby, a classic! I am extremely family oriented, I love them all. We are all so close, people think the cousins are brothers and sister & I love it. I am a terrible speller, so spell check is my BFF! Speaking of best friends, my BFF's name is Beth. She will soon be blogging too, I will keep you updated on her page name, so you can go check her out!
